The Animate Transparent Overdrive is the update to my original Light Roast Overdrive. The circuit has shifted from the SMD version back to through hole components for the time being . I really wanted this to be a true hands-on and hand built pedal. Interesting though, testing side by side of SMD vs through, yielded no audible difference. I do plan on making a video to show the side by side comparison at some point but that’s for another day.

My new multi voiced boost pedal, The Formant, is almost complete. Keeping things simple the Formant is an op amp boost with three different voicings. Clarity puts a mid-range bump around 1Khz for a clear bite. Presence puts the mid-range around the 700hz mark very similar to a highly used green pedal. Root takes the mid-range down to 500hz for a more “rooted” throatier sound, great for fattening up single coil pickups.
